Lady Smith, the Chair of the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry (SCAI), has today (26 March) issued a video message confirming that the vitally important investigative work of the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry (SCAI) continues despite a pause in public hearings as a consequence of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Lady Smith recognises some people may be anxious about whether they can continue their ongoing contact with the Inquiry or, indeed, about whether it is possible at the moment to make contact for the first time. 

Whilst the SCAI is not able to hold face-to-face meetings at the moment, our witness support team continue to operate the ‘Talk to Us’ phone line and are working to support applicants and other witnesses throughout this challenging time.
