Lady Smith has received two applications for her General Restriction Order  (“GRO”) to be disapplied in relation to the identity of a named individual.  At present, that person is a “protected person” under the GRO.

In terms of section 17 of the Inquiries Act 2005, Lady Smith has directed that a hearing be fixed at which those making the applications, and parties who have been identified by Lady Smith as having a direct interest in the applications, should address her.

The hearing will take place at 10am on Thursday 23rd February 2023 at the Inquiry’s premises in Mint House, 20 West Register Street, which is centrally located in Edinburgh, just off St Andrew Square. The hearing will be open to the public.

Participating parties will be required to make oral submissions in support of their applications/written submissions.

Lady Smith’s decision on the two applications will be issued to parties in due course.
